WORK CARIBBEAN

Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

Beta notice: Work Caribbean is a developing marketplace. During beta, clients and professionals arrange payment directly. Work Caribbean does not currently hold client funds or guarantee payment.

1. What Work Caribbean does

Work Caribbean provides online tools that help clients discover Caribbean professionals and help professionals find project opportunities. We do not employ, supervise or control users or the work they agree to perform. The marketplace is designed for Caribbean users and currently supports Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados and Saint Lucia.

2. Account eligibility

You must be old enough to enter a binding online agreement in your location. If you are under that age, do not create an account. You must provide accurate information and keep your login details private.

3. Profiles and project information

Users are responsible for keeping names, skills, portfolios, budgets, deadlines and project descriptions accurate. Do not impersonate another person or publish misleading qualifications.

4. AI-assisted qualification and matching

Work Caribbean may use automated tools, including AI, to review profile and project information, identify missing details, flag possible concerns and suggest potential matches. AI results are assistance only, may be wrong, and do not guarantee approval, hiring, quality, safety or payment. Users may request human review through Contact.

5. Work agreements

Clients and professionals must agree on scope, deadlines, deliverables, revisions, rates, taxes and payment terms before work begins. The work agreement is between those parties.

6. Payments during beta

Unless the platform clearly states otherwise, Work Caribbean does not process, hold, safeguard, escrow or guarantee marketplace payments during beta. Bank transfers, PayPal or other payment methods are arranged directly by the parties. Do not describe a payment as protected or held by Work Caribbean unless the platform expressly provides that feature.

7. Payment records and receipts

The platform may display payment records, agreed amounts and receipt references. A record does not prove that money was received, cleared or released. Users must verify payment independently.

8. Refunds, chargebacks and disputes

During beta, users must first discuss payment disagreements, revisions, cancellations and refunds with the other party. Contact Work Caribbean if you need help reporting suspected fraud or abuse. We may review platform activity but cannot promise to recover private payments.

9. Prohibited conduct

Users may not commit fraud, harass or threaten others, request unlawful work, upload harmful material, misuse personal information, evade agreed payment obligations, manipulate reviews, spam users or attempt to bypass platform security.

10. User content and copyright

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give Work Caribbean permission to store, display and process that content as needed to operate, secure and improve the marketplace. You must have permission to upload portfolios, files, logos, images and other materials.

11. Reviews

Reviews must be honest, relevant and based on a genuine interaction. Do not offer or request payment for a particular rating, post fake reviews or use reviews to threaten another user.

12. Files and security

Do not upload passwords, payment-card details, malware or confidential information that you are not authorised to share. You are responsible for keeping copies of your work and using secure file links.

13. Reporting and moderation

Users can report suspicious, unsafe or inappropriate activity. We may review reports, restrict content, suspend accounts or remove material when we believe it is necessary to protect the marketplace.

14. Account suspension and appeal

We may temporarily restrict or close an account for inaccurate information, abuse, fraud, security concerns or serious rule violations. Contact us if you believe an action was made in error. We may request information needed to review an appeal.

15. Account deletion

You may request account deletion through Contact. Some records may need to be retained for security, legal, accounting, dispute or fraud-prevention purposes.

16. Service messages

We may send account, security, project, proposal, contract, payment and moderation messages. You cannot opt out of essential service or security messages while using the platform.

17. Availability and disclaimers

Work Caribbean does not guarantee a job, client, income, quality of work, availability of projects, accuracy of AI results or payment outcome. Use reasonable care and independently verify the people and projects you work with.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the beta develops. The revised version will appear on this page with a new update date. Continued use after an update means you have had an opportunity to review it.

19. Contact

Questions, safety reports, appeals and deletion requests can be sent through our Contact page.
