Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide when you create an account, create a profile, post a project, submit a proposal, send messages, submit work, leave a review, contact us or report a problem. This may include your name, email address, country, including whether you are based in Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica, Barbados or Saint Lucia, skills, portfolio information, project details, files, payment-record information and account activity.
2. Information created through use
We may create records about proposals, contracts, deliverables, reviews, reports, notifications, qualification results and payment status so the marketplace can operate.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, show profiles and projects, support communication, qualify profiles and projects, suggest potential matches, process marketplace actions, prevent abuse, respond to requests, improve the service and send important service messages.
4. AI-assisted processing
Limited profile and project information may be sent to an AI service to provide qualification summaries, identify concerns and suggest matches. AI results are not guaranteed to be accurate and are not the sole promise of hiring, approval, safety or payment. Do not submit information that you are not authorised to share.
5. Service providers
We use service providers such as hosting, database, authentication, security, AI, file-storage, analytics or payment providers as the platform develops. These providers process information only to provide services for the marketplace and may process it in other countries.
6. What other users can see
Information you choose to publish in a professional profile or project may be visible to other marketplace users. Private messages, reports and account records are intended to be limited to the people and systems that need them to operate the service.
7. Payments
During beta, Work Caribbean does not currently hold marketplace funds. If you arrange payment directly with another user, that payment may be subject to the payment provider’s own privacy policy and records.
8. Local storage, cookies and analytics
Work Caribbean may use browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember basic preferences and display privacy choices. We may use cookies or similar technologies for security, essential operation and, if enabled later, service analytics. You can clear local storage or adjust browser settings, but some functions may stop working.
9. Sharing
We may share information with service providers, other users when you choose to publish it, professional advisers where necessary, or authorities when required to respond to lawful requests, protect users, investigate fraud or protect the service. We do not sell personal information.
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including authenticated access controls and database permissions. No online service can promise absolute security. Never share your password or payment-card details in messages.
11. Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, support accounting or meet other legitimate operational needs. Deletion requests may be limited where records must be retained.
12. Your choices
You may ask us to access, correct or delete personal information, subject to applicable requirements and operational limitations. You may also request human review of an AI-assisted qualification result. Use the Contact page.
13. Account deletion
To request deletion, contact us from the email associated with your account and include the account name. We may verify the request before acting.
14. Children
Work Caribbean is not intended for children who are not old enough to enter an online agreement in their location. Do not create an account or submit personal information if you do not meet that requirement.
15. Changes
We may update this policy as the marketplace develops. The revised version will appear here with a new update date.
16. Contact
Privacy questions and requests can be sent through our Contact page.
